IT’S BEEN CALLED THE “HOLY GRAIL” OF THE WOMAN’S PLEASURE ANATOMY. BUT DOES THE G-SPOT EVEN EXIST? IT’S BEEN A HIGHLY DEBATED QUESTION.

And one that Sara discusses with co-host Kat Leung and guest Vera Lui on this episode. Vera is the founder of Sally Coco (http://sallystoy.com), the first female-friendly sex toy shop in Hong Kong, and a certified sex educator who is happy to share the latest research on the G-spot (or more accurately, G-area), and debunk its biggest myths.

Finding and stimulating one's G-spot takes time and practice. We explore the many methods to go about it— whether solo with fingers, with toys, or with the assistance of an encouraging partner.

We talk about a big fantasy for some — squirting. We answer all your questions: Why does squirting tend to occur with G-spot stimulation? What makes up the liquid? How does porn influence our ideas on squirting? And so much more.

We also share practical tips and personal stories that make finding your G-spot achievable. Ultimately, we reach the conclusion: everybody is different. But it’s always worth exploring what feels good, especially when it could lead to an intensely satisfying orgasm.

So if you’re someone who wants to explore the G-spot, whether on your own or with someone else, this episode will give you the confidence to unlock its possibilities.

TIPS FOR FINDING THE G-SPOT

Get in the mood. Start by relaxing in a comfortable environment. Then get aroused. The G-spot is easier to find when you are already turned on.

Locate the area. Insert 1 - 2 fingers inside the vagina. Feel around for a spongy, firmer area on the front wall. The exact location and sensation may vary.

Massage it. The G-spot generally responds to deep, repetitive pressure. Start by slowly massaging the area and build up intensity, according to what feels good.

Press the pubic mound. Soft pressure on the pubic mound from the outside can sometimes help to stimulate the G-spot even more.

Use a curved G-spot toy. G-spot toys are usually firm with a curve. They can increase the chances of finding the G-spot, and deliver different sensations.

Enjoy the journey. Make the journey of finding your G-spot a playful, fun activity rather than being too focused on a performance or a goal. Remember to stay present and keep practicing.

WORDS OF WISDOM FROM THE EPISODE

“Everyone is different. Like for me, I didn't know that it's an area that can give me pleasure until I started practicing stimulating it. For me, it's a learning curve. It's not like a switch, bam, and orgasm. It's more like, gradually, I get to know it better. And then I know how to stimulate it.”

“Women's sexual health is just really terribly underfunded to start with. We don't really understand enough about female sexual anatomy. I'm hoping that we talk about this in another decade, that there will be more insight into what the spot actually is. But I think that whether or not scientific proof says or what scientific evidence says, it's also a lot based on your personal experience, you know, talking about it and figuring out what works for you. Some people love the G-spot, and some people don't really get much out of it. It's not really the Holy Grail.”

”In particular, men or penis owners are quite into the G-spot, because they love the idea of penetrative sex, right? Because I think for men, it is the easiest way for them to have an orgasm. So they enjoy this idea that ‘oh, there's also a spot in the woman that allows them to enjoy penetrative sex just as much as I do’.”

“So gradually, each week, I took the time to practice. And I also feel like the more you practice, the more your body is familiar with that kind of sensation or stimulation. And each time it gets easier, right?”

“The G-spot is just an area that maybe does respond with time and with practice, like any area of the body. I think the brain needs time to kind of build that pathway for pleasure, right?”

“I was actually with a partner, I think, the first time I experienced a G-spot or G-area orgasm. And, it was more ‘cause they were really encouraging and they made it more of this really hot, encouraging experience about like, ‘Oh, let me try this with you.’ There was a lot of just waiting for it and kind of encouragement, almost like coaching. And they were using their hands. So it was very much like a play. We were playing along with it and all of a sudden I realized— oh, this is actually becoming very, very, very pleasurable.”
